Summary:
The Bioanalytical Chemistry Facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies for the detailed study of a wide range of biomolecules including proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, hormones and specialized metabolites. The PMSF is a 1,500 square foot lab space with adjoining office space for the director and facility staff as well as a computer lab for data processing. The facility offers fast, high quality specialized analytical services including: protein extractions from various tissues, liquid chromatography separation of proteins and other biomolecules; high resolution 1D and 2D gel electrophoresis; gel image analysis; protein in-solution and in-gel digestion for mass spectrometry; high-throughput protein identification; accurate protein molecular weight analysis; protein covalent/non-covalent complex analysis; quantitative proteomic analysis; protein post-translational modification analysis; peptide de novo sequencing amino acid analysis; acidic plant hormone analysis; targeted small molecule separation/structure determination; untargeted metabolomics analysis.
