Todd Mockler, a scientist at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and co-founder of food technology firm Benson Hill (NYSE: BHIL), died Friday. He was 52.
An obituary said Mockler died suddenly at his home. Mockler in 2011 joined the Danforth Center, where he was a member and the Geraldine and Robert Virgil distinguished investigator. Mockler’s research helped launch local agriculture technology startups, including Benson Hill, the food technology firm that became a publicly traded company in September 2021.
