(St. Louis Business Journal) Donald Danforth Plant Science Center names new board chair, 2 directors
The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, the St. Louis-based nonprofit research institute, looked to one of the region's largest private companies for its new board chair.
Penny Pennington, managing partner of $12 billion financial services firm Edward Jones, was elected chair of the Danforth Center board for a one-year term, officials said Wednesday.
She succeeds Todd Schnuck, chairman and CEO of grocer Schnuck Markets, who served as board chair for five years, from 2019 through 2023, and remains a board member. The center's board chair can serve no more than five one-year terms, a spokesperson said.
Pennington joined the Danforth Center board in 2015 and currently serves on its executive committee, and previously served as chair of the finance committee and board vice chair.
