(LA NACION) “It takes us to another level”: an international organization put the spotlight on agtechs and anticipated a plan

During the Aapresid Congress it was announced that the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) will promote the ecosystem of startups at a regional level

In a talk on digital innovation ecosystems held at the XXXII Congress of the Argentine Association of Direct Seeding Producers (Aapresid ), which is taking place at the La Rural site with the support of Expoagro , experts from the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and guests from abroad mentioned the importance of generating value and developing larger ecosystems in this area. Financial support from the private and public sectors will be essential, for example, for agtechs.

Laurens Klerkx, from the University of Talca; Daniel Werner, from the Ministry of Agriculture of Israel; Stephanie Regagnon, from the Danforth Center; Federico Bert, from IICA; and Mark Jaman, from AgriTierra, spoke on stage about new ideas, the need to seek funding, generate value and the direction in which to aim. They also mentioned that there are startups that seek to generate “cannibalization” where large companies absorb small ones. “Cannibalism is part of the game, it is a big problem, it is part of the idiosyncrasy,” they mentioned.
